TOM JONAS will not play against Gold Coast on Saturday night, nor in the Power's first final on the weekend of 8-10 September, after accepting a two game ban from the AFL Match Review Panel.

Jonas was confronted by the prospect of a three-game ban if he challenged the intentional, low impact, high hit he was cited for making on Bulldog Luke Dahlhaus last weekend.

It means the key defender will effectively miss three weeks of football, with the league having a bye between Round 23 and Week 1 of the finals series.
