FIVE players will be assessed at training this week ahead of Port Adelaide’s clashes with the Suns and Roosters.

Headlining the assessments will be Matthew Broadbent, the defender who has missed over a month with an ankle problem.

He will resume training with the playing group this week and will potentially play his return game if he gets through issue-free.

Jasper Pittard was managed through a tight calf last week and is aiming to resume running ahead of the Suns game, according to Port’s head physio Tim McGrath.

“Broady ran well last week during rehab and will resume team training this week,” McGrath told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“He’s hoping to return this weekend if he can get through the week without any issues.

“Jasper had a calf injury early in the week before the Bulldogs game and was managed as a precaution.

“We’re aiming for him to resume running this week and will assess chances of playing this weekend.”

Sam Gray (corked quad), Dan Houston (shoulder) and Jimmy Toumpas (knee) will all have their match-related injuries assessed during the week as well.
