portadelaidefc.com.au takes a look at who’s in the mix to play in Showdown XL.

Port Adelaide

There’s set to be at least one forced change to the Power’s side following the loss of forward Matt White to a pectoral tear in last week’s win over the Saints.

Hamish Hartlett also faces a nervous wait, with a fitness test set to decide his fate for Saturday's clash.

Port Adelaide will certainly be looking to replace White’s link-up and speed.

Aaron Young is around the mark for a call up after being named just outside of the starting 22 as an emergency last week and collecting 26 disposals and nine clearances in the SANFL clash with Norwood.

Karl Amon is also a chance to fill the role – he too was named as an emergency in the first round, just missing out on an AFL spot after an impressive pre-season campaign.

Trade recruit Jimmy Toumpas impressed in his first Port Adelaide game with 25 touches for the Magpies last weekend, putting him into consideration for a possible Power debut.

Meanwhile Will Snelling and Riley Bonner are set to debut for the Magpies in the SANFL Showdown at Mannum after recovering from respective viral and hamstring setbacks.

Adelaide Crows

With no new injuries reported at AFL or SANFL level, the Crows are set to be at full-strength for Showdown XL this weekend. Skipper Taylor Walker was spotted in a ‘moon boot’ last week but has since been cleared to play, while young defender Matt Crouch has escaped penalty for a bump against Roo Jarrad Waite in their Round 1 clash. Both should play on Saturday.

Following a close loss to the Kangaroos, the Crows could look to harness the services of some talented young blood from the SANFL side’s emphatic 63-point win over reigning premiers West Adelaide.

Cam Ellis-Yolmen shone as the leading ball winner, collecting 27 disposals and nine clearances – he was also named as an emergency for the top side, suggesting he ranks in the Crows’ top 25.

Ricky Henderson, Riley Knight and new recruit Tory Menzel were all named in afc.com.au’s SANFL best, and could also be in the mix to hit the field in Showdown XL depending on match ups.

Meanwhile Tom Doedee is expected to make his Crows debut in the SANFL Showdown after recovering from an ongoing knee complaint.
