PAUL STEWART will replace Dom Cassisi in Port Adelaide's side to play Essendon this weekend.

Cassisi will miss the next month recovering from a hamstring injury sustained against Collingwood last Saturday night.

The latest on the Cassisi and Ebert injuries

Stewart is the sole change to Port Adelaide's team after a strong performance in the SANFL last Sunday for the Eagles.

He kicked two late goals in that game to get the Eagles up over Port Adelaide's SANFL side.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley told portadelaidefc.com.au Stewart was a flexible replacement for the injured Cassisi.

"Stewart was incredibly unlucky to go out of the side against Sydney - a late withdrawal because of injury in the warmup - he's otherwise been in good form," said Hinkley.

"Dom's the only change we've made and that's a forced one because of his injury.

"Stewart offers a great deal of flexibility to us and will come in and play his role well."

Preview: Port Adelaide v Essendon

Hinkley was comfortable making only the one change after two winning efforts against the Magpies and Sydney.

"The thing you like most as a coach is going into a game knowing that a side has earned the right to play again," said Hinkley.

"The non-negotiables will be no different to any other week for us.

"It's the ability to play tough, hard contested footy because we know the Bombers' form is that of one of the best teams in the competition over the whole season."
