TICKET sales for Port Adelaide’s Round 16 Saturday night blockbuster against Essendon are selling at record speed after being released to the public on Tuesday morning.

The sales of tickets are tracking ahead of those for the record-breaking blockbuster against Hawthorn in Round 10, with over 3000 to the July 5th match sold on the first day.

That game saw a South Australian AFL record crowd attend the Power’s thrilling win over the reigning premiers at the Adelaide Oval.

The majority of reserved seats to the Bombers clash have been snapped up, with only single seats currently remaining.

Port Adelaide’s general manager – member services Matthew Richardson says tickets won’t last at the current rate of sale.

“So if people are thinking they’d like to attend this game, don’t wait too long to secure your tickets - log into Ticketek and purchase now before they sell out” Richardson says.

“Most reserved seats are sold, with only a handful of single reserved seats left, which leaves general admission categories which give unreserved seating access to a number of fantastic locations around the ground, including under cover.

“We expect this game to sell out given the current rate of sale – which is unprecedented for the club this year – and with the excitement a game under lights generates and the traditionally high level of support for Essendon in South Australia, we’re expecting a fantastic atmosphere.”
