WITH the Power coming off a solid team win at home on Saturday afternoon, it’s unlikely many unforced changes will be made ahead of the Round 18 clash against Melbourne at the MCG this weekend.

The AFL side further solidified their spot in the top four with a 70-point win over North Melbourne while the Magpies didn’t have much to celebrate, going down to Central Districts by 16 points.

Paddy Ryder joins Matthew Broadbent as the only two players on Port’s injury list after he rolled his ankle in the third quarter of the Power’s emphatic win.

Both are set to have their ankles assessed before selection on Thursday.

Jack Hombsch was omitted from the team last week after a few weeks of poor form, although a strong team win over the Roos will make it tough for him to force his way back into the side.

Other strong performers for the Magpies included Toumpas, Amon and Lobbe.

Port Adelaide’s selection will take place at 5.50pm ACDT on Thursday 20 July.

Melbourne

Melbourne will likely bring an aggressive game style to the ‘G on Saturday afternoon after their 46-point Round 17 loss to Adelaide.

Dean Kent is a certainty to miss the match after dislocating his shoulder just before three-quarter-time.

Bernie Vince is another definite out for them, having copped a two-match suspension for striking Eddie Betts.

Jack Watts and Dom Tyson are reportedly certain starters for the Dees and Jack Viney is also likely to make his return despite having surgery on his foot just over two weeks ago.

Nathan Jones and Christian Salem are still a few weeks away from returning so will not face the Power this weekend.

Port Adelaide plays Melbourne at 2.10pm AEST on Saturday 22 July.
