PORT ADELAIDE Magpies skipper Steven Summerton has been selected in the 2018 West End State League Training Squad.

Summerton, who reached 200 league games last season, has been rewarded for his ongoing high standard of football according to Magpies coach Matthew Lokan.

“Steve epitomises everything this football club stands for,” Lokan said.

“His leadership on and off the field is fantastic, and he just continues to grow as a footballer and leader.

“It is great reward for him to be recognised by the state team selection panel, and we hope he gets to represent his state again.”

The three-time Magpies best and fairest has already represented South Australia on three occasions.

The West End state game will be played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday, May 12, with the final squad to be named on the Thursday prior to the match.
