PORT ADELAIDE great Russell Ebert OAM will be farewelled at a State Funeral at Alberton Oval on Tuesday.

Mr Ebert passed away earlier this month aged 72, eleven months after being diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia.

Around 4000 people are expected to pay their respects to one of Australian football’s greatest players during his funeral.

Here is some important information you need to know to plan your day:

Times:

The state funeral of Russell Ebert will get underway at 11:00am.

Gates open at Alberton Oval at 9:00am.

Please enter via the Russell Ebert gates on the south western side of Alberton Oval or the Bob McLean gates behind the north western goals.

Ticketing:

If you want to attend the state funeral of Russell Ebert at Alberton Oval, entry is free but please register in advance via https://russellebert.eventbrite.com.au.  

Live Stream / Broadcast:

The funeral will be live streamed by the Department for Premier and Cabinet for those unable to attend via https://youtu.be/Rlm7cV2nWlg from 10:55am.

Channel 7 will also broadcast the funeral in South Australia.

COVID-19 protocols:

All guests must wear a mask in the precinct at all times. Attendees are asked to check in via the QR Code when entering the precinct. There are also additional codes to check in for each grandstand and on-ground seating areas.

Car parking:

Please note there is no dedicated car parking. All car parking around Alberton Oval has been set aside for disabled parking and for family and invited guests. Street parking is available for other attendees.

Tributes:

In lieu of floral tributes, the family has requested donations be made to the Australian Red Cross or the Leukaemia Foundation.

Food and Drink:

Bottled water and soft drink are available (at cost) behind the Fos Williams Family grandstand and in the car park outside the Allan Scott Power Headquarters. There are also two complimentary water re-fill stations available.

Toilets are available behind the Fos Williams Family grandstand and in the car park outside the Allan Scott Power Headquarters.
