Hollywood actress Teresa Palmer has been appointed Port Adelaide Football Club’s joint Number 1 ticketholder.

Adelaide-born Palmer, 22, has been a Port Adelaide fan all her life, attending games since she was in primary school.

Palmer recently starred in ‘Bedtime Stories’ with Adam Sandler, and has signed to star opposite Nicolas Cage in the Disney remake of ‘The Sorcerer's Apprentice’.

Palmer joins the Sunrise program’s David Koch as the Power’s joint No. 1 ticketholder. She will be the Club’s first female No. 1 ticketholder.

New Port Adelaide President Brett Duncanson says he’s thrilled Palmer has accepted the role.

“Teresa is a genuine Port Adelaide person, who is forging a tremendously successful acting career internationally,” Duncanson said.

“She brings to the role a genuine passion for the Port Adelaide Football Club, plus of course real ‘star’ quality, as well as quality values as a person.”

Palmer says she can’t believe she’s been offered the No. 1 ticket.

“I am absolutely honoured to have been offered this role,” Palmer said.

“I’ve watched from the outer since I was a girl, and to be the club’s joint Number 1 ticket holder is just unbelievable.”

“I will be spreading the Power message far and wide!”

The Club’s former joint No. 1 ticketholder was Club legend Bob Quinn, who passed away last year. Quinn will be honoured at Port’s Round 1 match against Essendon – as will former club Patron Allan Scott.

Scott’s widow Grace has accepted an offer to be Patron of the Club, joining Sir Eric Neal in that role. She will be the Club’s first female Patron.
