THE PORT ADELAIDE Football Club congratulates 2004 Premiership player Stuart Dew on his induction as an AFL Life Member.

Dew’s induction was confirmed by the AFL Commission at its 2022 Annual General Meeting on Thursday morning.

The youngest member of Port Adelaide’s inaugural AFL list, the Central District product played 180 games and booted 245 goals for the club between 1997 and 2006.

He was Port Adelaide’s leading goal kicker in 2002 when he managed 51 goals, and he went on to be a key player in the club’s history-making 2004 premiership side.

Dew celebrates kicking a goal during the 2004 Grand Final.

After retiring and not playing in 2007, Dew was then recruited by Hawthorn where he played a further 26 games and was part of the Hawks’ 2008 premiership side.

Dew has since forged a career in the coaches’ box, firstly as an assistant coach at Sydney and since 2018 as the senior coach of the Gold Coast SUNS.

He reached 300 games as a player and coach during the 2021 season, making him eligible for AFL Life Membership.
