TIME MACHINE

Round 14, 2014: Wearing a replica of its 1914 jumper, Port Adelaide swept aside Adelaide's SANFL team with a blistering performance where it rarely looked matched. FOUR QUARTERS

THE STAKES
Port Adelaide is back in the top five but needs to win this important game at Balaklava to keep touch with the competition leaders. The Crows - winless at this stage - are playing for pride. These games don't quite match the intensity of their traditional AFL counterparts, but a nice little rivalry is slowly growing at SANFL level.

THE STOCKS
It all depends for Port. Ollie Wines is a long shot to return in the AFL this weekend, so if he does he could squeeze out another player into the SANFL team. Adelaide's Riley Knight will have a fitness test, but the Crows' injury list is extensive.

THE HISTORY
Granted the rivalry really exists on the national stage, but in the SANFL, Port Adelaide and the Crows have played two games. While Adelaide plays its home 'Showdown' in country areas, Port Adelaide plays at its traditional Alberton home. At present the ledger is 2-0 in the Magpies' favour.

THE VIBE
Port Adelaide returned to form last week and looked sharper than it did against Norwood and the Eagles, but will want to improve its finish in front of goals against the Crows.
