THERE were two incidents assessed by the Match Review Officer Michael Christian from Saturday's clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.

Steven Motlop, Port Adelaide, has been charged with making careless contact with umpire Leigh Fisher during the first quarter of the Round Six match between Port Adelaide and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday April 28, 2018. 

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea. 

Making careless contact with an umpire is a fixed financial sanction of $1500.

The player can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

The match day report laid against Port Adelaide’s Darcy Byrne-Jones for striking North Melbourne’s Jack Ziebell from the third quarter of Saturday’s match was assessed.

Ziebell has possession and is trying to avoid Byrne-Jones.

As he turns back away from his opponent, his path is blocked by teammate Ben Brown and Ziebell attempts to handball the ball away. As he disposes of the ball, he begins to go to ground and high contact is made by Byrne-Jones.

It was the view of the Match Review Officer the force used in the high contact was below that required for a charge to be laid.
