PORT ADELAIDE wingman Kane Farrell has been nominated for the 2022 rebel AFL Goal of the Year for his incredible left foot goal from the tightest of angles in the weekend’s win over West Coast.

Farrell’s effort came in the second quarter after he turned over the ball inside 50, assessed the situation quickly and nailed his effort on goal under pressure and from a very difficult angle, right on the boundary line.

The 23-year-old was playing his first AFL game since rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament nine months ago.

It was one of several highlights in the 84-point win – the club’s first victory for 2022 – and it won the weekly RAA Play of the Day.
