High performance manager Darren Burgess said Reddenās rehabilitation hadnāt progressed as well as hoped and after another assessment of the knee it was decided further surgery was required.
āThis is really disappointing for Jarrad, heās been working really hard on his rehab but the knee simply hasnāt been progressing as weād expected,ā Burgess said.
Burgess confirmed the 23-year-old, who has played 15 games for Port Adelaide, had a posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction last night.
āThe surgery went well and Jarrad will now undergo about three months of intense rehabilitation,ā Burgess said.
āThe aim is for Jarrad to have this surgery now so he can give himself the best chance of doing a full pre-season in preparation for 2015.ā
