The Power remain winless after three rounds and have copped heavy criticism, following mainly lacklustre performances against West Coast and Geelong.
The club was in a worse predicament when the cross-town rivals met in round 17 last season, having lost a record nine straight games and parted ways with coach Mark Williams.
The Crows had resurrected their season on the back of four-consecutive wins, but were upstaged by the resurgent Power by 19 points.
Adelaide will start favourites again this weekend, but Brogan said his team was capable of pulling off a similar upset.
"We totally respect Adelaide, but we do get up for Showdowns," Brogan said on Tuesday.
"Last year, we played Adelaide and had a very good win…and then we won five out of our last seven games.
"We're really looking to this week to springboard our season again. It's not going to be easy. Adelaide is a fantastic side and Craigy [coach Neil Craig] has put the acid on them a little bit, so we expect them to come out and be very competitive."

Port Adelaide started strongly at Skilled Stadium last weekend, but the Cats piled on 11 goals to the visitors' four in the second half to run out comfortable 79-point winners.
The Power also played well in the second half against West Coast in round two and for periods against Collingwood in the opening round, but were unable to sustain the effort, prompting coach Matthew Primus to question his side's work rate.
Brogan will captain the team in the absence of injured skipper Dom Cassisi and said he would take it upon himself to make sure the Power didn't experience another lapse on Saturday night.
"You can't hide away from the fact we got smacked by 79 points by Geelong and to be fair, our last quarter, well, we may as well not have been there," he said.
"Our work rate dropped…and that wasn't just from one certain player, it was across the board because we're all in it together. It's up to us as a team and [it's up] to a senior player like myself to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"Matty [Primus] has said there will be changes and whatever players get dropped or brought into the team [this week], I'll just be making sure they're up for the challenge."
Port Adelaide is expected to recall Jacob Surjan, Steven Salopek and Brett Ebert for the game against the Crows.
Brogan said the trio would add much-needed experience to the developing team.
"Sal [Salopek] probably could've played on the weekend, but with a hamstring,. it's probably a two-week [injury] now instead of a week," Brogan said.
"Surjan and Ebert are experienced players, who have been in excellent form, and have really had to earn their spots.
"They're not in yet, but I'd say they're pretty close to getting in."
Brogan has played a lone hand in the ruck for Port Adelaide this season and has come up against four of the best ruckmen in the competition, Darren Jolly, Dean Cox, Nic Naitanui and Brad Ottens in the opening three rounds.
The 32-year-old said he was coping well with the heavy workload and that he was happy with the support from Daniel Stewart and Justin Westhoff.
"Ask me in round 10 and I might say, 'yeah, I need a spell', but I'm feeling really good [at the moment]," he said.
"If the time comes when I'm getting tired and I'm not performing in the ruck, I'm sure Matty will tap me on the shoulder and say, 'you need a week off'."
