JUNIOR Rioli has been ruled out of Port Adelaide’s pre-season match against Fremantle on Thursday night.

The skilful forward was unwell and unable to train on Tuesday, and a decision was made for him to leave the club’s base in Perth and return to Adelaide to rest and recover.

The 27-year-old was traded to Alberton from West Coast in the off-season and booted two goals against his former side in Port Adelaide’s match simulation last Friday.

A number of other players who won’t be involved in the game against the Dockers also left Perth on Tuesday to continue training in Adelaide ahead of Round 1.

Port Adelaide will name its selected side for the game against Fremantle on Thursday afternoon.
