Trent McKenzie will play his 150th AFL game in Saturday’s Anzac Appeal Round encounter with West Coast.

The long-kicking wingman turned resolute defender began his career as one of the inaugural Gold Coast Suns and has made the most of a second chance at Port Adelaide, becoming one of the more reliable performers in the backline.

Here are some numbers to help you impress your friends about the 31-year-old’s career so far:

21– McKenzie played 21 games in his debut season in 2011. He was just the 15th player to pull on a Gold Coast Suns jumper, playing in that club’s first game – a loss to Carlton in Round 2, 2011.

174 – McKenzie was the 174th player to represent Port Adelaide at AFL level. His club debut came in a 22-point loss to Essendon at Docklands. He had 11 disposals and three marks that day.

8 – McKenzie played eight games across two clubs in two seasons without tasting victory in 2017 and 2018. He had seven straight losses in his only seven games in his last season with the Suns before that loss to Essendon in his only game in Power colours in 2018.

18 – While McKenzie has worn the number 12 guernsey throughout his time with Port Adelaide, 18 was his number in seven seasons with the Suns.

38.60- McKenzie’s winning percentage in his 149 games. That increases to 69.8 percent if you only take into account his 43 games for Port Adelaide (30 wins, 13 losses).

23 – McKenzie has kicked 23 goals in his 149 games so far. His best return in a single season was 13.19 in his debut season with Gold Coast in 2011. He has never booted more than two goals in a single game.

0 – McKenzie has never polled a Brownlow Medal vote. Perhaps a bit stiff but defenders often find it hard to catch the eye of the umpires.
