Port Adelaide has been forced to make one change ahead of Thursday night’s home clash against reigning premiers Geelong. 

After playing one of the most impactful games of his AFL career, young defender Lachie Jones is set to miss a month of football with a fractured jaw. 

Ryan Burton will take Jones’s place in the backline, following a solid performance in the SANFL on Saturday, collecting 21 disposals in just over a half of football. 

Port Adelaide will be playing for its 11th consecutive win off the back of a six-day break, while Geelong, which is sitting just outside of the top eight, will be fresh from a bye. 

Jase Burgoyne, Quinton Narkle, Riley Bonner and captain Tom Jonas have been named emergencies, with those not required on Thursday allowed to play in Sunday’s SANFL match against Norwood at Coopers Stadium. 

The tactical substitute will be selected from among the emergencies and announced one hour before the first bounce at 7:10pm ACST.
