PORT ADELAIDE will play the Crows in the SANFL Showdown on Saturday having made at least two changes to the side that lost to the Roosters a fortnight ago.

Ben Newton and Paul Stewart won’t play for the Magpies after receiving the call-up to the club’s AFL side against Melbourne last week.

The Magpies have named four inclusions into their extended side, with Kane Mitchell and Sam Gray named on the field.

That means they're certainties to don the club's replica 1914 guernsey in honour of its undefeated centenary.

Ben Haren and Sam Gordon named on the extended bench, along with Robbie Young, Jake Johansen and Jake Neade.

That extended bench will be whittled down to three players on Friday afternoon.

The injured Cameron Hitchcock will need to wait at least another week before making his return from injury after seeing his surgeon late this week, according to head of high performance Darren Burgess.

“We were confident Hitchy would be ready to go, but wanted the surgeon to sign off on his return and they’ve recommended he wait at least another week,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“It’s important we manage our guys coming out of long rehab periods and we’ll respect the surgeon’s call.

“Hitchy will be a week-to-week proposition until the surgeon gives him the tick of approval to come back.”
