THE 2023 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Port Adelaide Football Club will be held on Friday 9th February 2024, commencing at 6:00pm in the new High-Performance training centre at Alberton Oval.  

As notified in December, there will be an election for one (1) position on the Board of Directors for a 3-year term, with Member elected Director Kathy Nagle's 3-year term complete.  

The online ballot process, run independently by CorpVote, will open on the 25th of January 2024, and close on the 7th of February 2024. 

To be eligible to vote, you must have been a financial member of the Port Adelaide Football Club as of 31st October 2023. Therefore, 2023 members or members who renewed or joined for 2024 prior to the 31st of October 2023, and be over the age of 18 are eligible.  

CorpVote will send information regarding the election directly to eligible members.  

The successful candidate will be announced at the club's AGM.

When is the ballot period?   

Voting will open on Thursday 25 January 2024 and close at 5:00PM ACDT on Wednesday 7 February 2024. 

Who are the candidates? 

Following the nominations process, there are 2 nominations for one (1) position as Member Elected Director, therefore in accordance with the rules of Port Adelaide Football Club Limited, an election is required to determine this position.  

The candidates for election in order determined by a double-blind selection process:

- Warren Tredrea  
 
The order of candidates as they appear above has been determined by lot by the independent Returning Officer. 

The candidate statements will be provided directly to members via email from CorpVote on the 25th of January 2024. 

Who is eligible to vote? 

To be eligible to vote, you must have been a financial Port Adelaide Football Club member in 2023, or a new 2024 Member who joined the club prior to the 31st of October 2023, and be over the age of 18. 

This is the 2023 Annual General Meeting and Director election. Members who join after the 31st of October 2023 are not entitled to vote in this election.  

Members who have not supplied their date of birth will also be excluded as the age cannot be verified. To update your details, please contact Member Services on (08) 8447 9900 or email membership@pafc.com.au. 

Port Adelaide members who joined the club after the 31st of October 2023 will be eligible to vote in the 2024 member election.  

These conditions are in accordance with the Election Rules of the club and have not changed since the voting process was introduced upon entry to the AFL.  

How will I know if I am eligible to vote? 

Eligible members will receive an email from CorpVote on the 25th of January 2024 with details on the candidates and voting process.

How can I vote? 

You will be able to cast your vote online via the independent third-party voting system managed by CorpVote.  

Information on how to access this system head of the ballot period opening will be provided to eligible club members via email from CorpVote. 

Members who do not have an active email address will be posted details of how to vote by CorpVote. 

You will only be able to vote once, and your vote will be registered anonymously. 

What information do I need to vote? 

CorpVote will provide you a Voter Access Code at the time the vote opens that you will need, in addition to providing your Member Account ID. 

You can find your Member Account ID on your membership card, membership renewal form or in your PAFC online account. 

What if I hold multiple memberships in my name?  

Members can only vote once.  

If you have multiple memberships in your name, you will need to contact the Port Adelaide Football Club membership team prior to the voting period to update your account and provide the names and details of the other members under your account.  

You will need to supply full name, date of birth, email and phone number to create an individual account for those who wish to vote.

Who manages the election?  

CorpVote Pty Ltd is independently conducting this voting process.  

CorpVote is an Australian company specialising in the planning, management and delivery of secure, independent voting and election services.  

They have been appointed by Port Adelaide Football Club Limited to protect your privacy and ensure a fair voting process.  

All votes submitted through the CorpVote system are secure. This is a secret ballot process. 

When will the results be announced?  

Election results will be announced at the PAFC Annual General Meeting, to be held at the new High-Performance Centre, Alberton Oval on Friday, 9th February 2024 commencing at 6.00PM. 

What is the Composition of the Board of Directors and how are they elected or appointed? 

The Board comprises up to ten (10) appointed Directors.  

The Board of Directors will comprise:  

  • Two (2) persons nominated to the AFL by the Club Membership ("Club nominees”). 
  • The Member-elected Directors who are appointed based on a majority Member vote for a 3-year term.  
  • Up to eight (8) persons nominated by the PAFC Board and appointed by the AFL.  

The composition of the AFL appointed Directors are selected based on expertise, experience and diversity of skill set required to best serve the Club.
