Port Adelaide defender Josh Sinn has signed a two-year contract extension, taking him through to at least the end of 2027.

Arriving at Alberton at pick 12 by way of the 2021 national draft, Sinn has enjoyed a strong run of games at AFL level this year, after working through some injury struggles in the early part of his career.

Boasting speed and a penetrating left foot, the 22-year-old has averaged almost 13 disposals and four marks from 13 matches in 2025. His high work-rate, reliability and accuracy by foot are trademarks of his game.

Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps was pleased to secure Sinn’s signature.

“Josh is a highly valued player at the club, who has really made the most of his opportunities this season,” Cripps said.

“He’s worked hard to get his body in a good place and has been able to string together some consistent footy.

“Still early in his AFL career, we see plenty of upside for Josh as he continues to develop his game, both defensively and offensively.”

An East Brighton Vampires junior who played with the Sandringham Dragons in 2021, Sinn also captained an undefeated under-16 Vic Metro side, before his under-18 years were hampered by Covid lockdowns.

Coming through the same draft as teammates Jason Horne-Francis, Dante Visentini, Hugh Jackson and now-housemate Jase Burgoyne, the agile defender is looking forward to another two years at Alberton.

“I’ve loved my time at Port so far, especially this year being able to play plenty of AFL footy.

“The coaches have put so much faith in me over the last few years and have given me great support.

“I love the boys here and have made some really strong friendships at the club. I can’t wait to see what the future holds.”

Sinn is the fourth player so far this year to extend his time beyond 2025 at Alberton, joining Kane Farrell, Dante Visentini and Logan Evans.
