Port Adelaide midfielder Jack Watkins has been selected in the 2025 The Advertiser SANFL Team of the Year.

In his first year in black-and-white, Watkins was a standout in the Magpies’ engine room, averaging 27 disposals, 4.6 marks and 4.2 clearances from 18 games.

The former North Melbourne VFL captain was instrumental in Port Adelaide’s seven wins, with the side falling just short of a SANFL finals’ berth.

Known for his speed, running capacity and high work-rate, Watkins was a beacon of consistency for the Magpies throughout the year.

The 24-year-old also represented South Australia in the state team earlier this season, with the SANFL hosting the WAFL back in May.

Watkins was the only representative from Port Adelaide, with eight of the 10 SANFL clubs fielding players in the Team of the Year.
