Port Adelaide will celebrate South Australian educators in its Round 3 clash against the West Coast Eagles, offering a free family pass as a token of appreciation for the important role they play in the lives of young people across the state.
The initiative stems from the club’s long-standing partnership with the South Australian Education Department, delivered through the club’s not-for-profit community programs.
It will engage educators across early childhood, primary and secondary education, as well as school support officers, and is being implemented in partnership with Credit Union SA.
Teaching students from Flinders University will also be invited to attend through the club’s partnership with the institution.
As part of the celebration, fans will have the opportunity to nominate a teacher who has had a profound impact on them or their community. Selected nominees will take part in exclusive game day experiences, including the coin toss and ball delivery.
Educators wishing to attend should keep an eye out for communication from the South Australian Education Department, which will include a code to redeem their free tickets.
Credit Union SA Chief Executive Officer Todd Roberts said that Credit Union SA are looking forward to supporting this initiative.
“We’re proud to support this incredible Port Adelaide Football Club initiative that recognises the vital role educators play across South Australia. Education is in our DNA at Credit Union SA, and this round is our way of saying thank you to the educators who do so much for our state.”
Credit Union SA have supported educators in South Australia for over 60 years and will continue to do so through both their Educators Association’s Sponsorship Program and their School Impact Program, committing $1 million in funding over 10 years for schools to access for projects in their community.
