Josh Lai will make his AFL debut this Sunday against West Coast, while Will Brodie will pull on the Power jumper for the first time.

Lai was plucked from suburban football to train with Port Adelaide ahead of the 2025 season, impressing coaches and eventually winning a supplemental selection period list spot.

The 20-year-old defender was spotted playing for Cheltenham in Melbourne’s Southern League, identified for his speed, power and strong overhead mark.

Lai takes the place of Todd Marshall who sustained an ankle sprain during training on Thursday, while Lachie Jones returns after missing last weekend with hamstring tightness.

Brodie will play his first AFL game since 2023, with the 27-year-old arriving at Alberton ahead of the 2026 season.

With 54 games at the top level between Gold Coast and Fremantle, the big-bodied midfielder brings plenty of experience to the side.

Port Adelaide has also added Dante Visentini, Mitch Zadow and Ollie Wines to the extended bench, with Wines eligible for selection after missing the first two rounds due to suspension.

If Zadow was to be named in the final team, he’d also be making his AFL debut, after being signed as an SSP last month.

Three players from the bench will be moved to the emergencies in final selection on Friday afternoon.

Sunday’s game will begin at 12pm Adelaide time, and the match will be broadcast live on Fox Footy, Channel 7 and Kayo.
