Port Adelaide captain Jez McLennan has been named in the SANFL state squad, set to take on the VFL during Gather Round.

The SANFL has named a preliminary 30-player squad, with McLennan the sole Magpies representative.

In his first year as captain, and second season at Alberton, McLennan has already been leading from the front, averaging 23 disposals and 8.5 marks from the first two rounds.

It will be the third consecutive year he has represented his state, with the 25-year-old earning the Fos Williams Medal twice in 2024, awarded to the best on ground for SA.

The final team will be announced later this week.

The first state game for the season begins at 2:30pm this Saturday at Glenelg Oval, following the SANFLW v VFLW clash from midday.
