Port Adelaide is pleased to announce the signing of promising young ruck-forward Grace Parsons to its AFLW list.
Parsons joins the club as an injury replacement player, filling the vacancy created after Jemma Charity was moved to the inactive list following a season-ending knee injury.
The 18-year-old arrives at Alberton after progressing through the Sydney Swans Academy before relocating to South Australia to join Port Adelaide’s AFLW list.
Standing at 180cm, Parsons is an athletic and mobile tall who has built a reputation as a strong aerial competitor.
Her ability to impact contests in the air, combined with her competitiveness at ground level and scoreboard presence, has marked her as an exciting prospect for the future.
Port Adelaide Head of AFLW Dan Merrett said Parsons had earned her opportunity at the elite level.
“We’re really pleased to welcome Grace to the club as an injury replacement player. She’s a young key forward with a lot of upside,” Merrett said.
“Grace has some exciting natural attributes, particularly her aerial ability. She competes strongly in the air, has a terrific vertical leap and strong hands, and she’s shown she can impact the scoreboard when given opportunities inside 50.
“She’s still developing and there’s plenty of growth ahead of her, but we believe her foundations are very strong. We’re excited to bring her into our environment, support her development and see what she can produce at the next level.”
Parsons adds further depth to Port Adelaide’s tall stocks and will continue her development within the club’s AFLW program ahead of the 2026 season.
