Port Adelaide has locked in young key forward Jack Whitlock for five more years, extending the promising 20-year-old’s time at Alberton through to 2032. 

Already contracted in 2027, Whitlock has enjoyed an impressive start to his young AFL career, going from strength to strength in 2026, playing every game so far. 

Debuting in Round 21 last year against Geelong, Whitlock has held his spot since, providing strong support to spearhead Mitch Georgiades. 

The 200-centimetre player has kicked 19 goals from 18 games this season, including three-goal hauls against West Coast and North Melbourne. 

He was also nominated as the AFL’s Rising Star following the Round 8 Showdown, when he amassed 14 disposals, four marks and a goal. 

Whitlock has continued to hold his own against experienced key backmen and leads the competition’s second-year key forwards for most marks inside 50 with 32. 

Taken at pick 33 in the 2024 national draft, Whitlock was the club’s second selection that year, after good mate and fellow Murray Bushranger Joe Berry. 

“I’m so happy to have signed for Port Adelaide long-term,” Whitlock said. 

“I’ve felt welcomed here since day one, and I’m loving my time at the club. 

“To be given the opportunity to play at AFL level is such a privilege, and something I definitely don’t take for granted. I always want to learn more so I can improve my game and contribute to as much on-field success as possible. 

“I really believe in this group and where we are going.” 

Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps was pleased to keep the young star at Alberton.
