Port Adelaide has named an extended squad for Sunday’s 2026 NAB AFLW home opener against Hawthorn at Alberton Oval, with the final team to be confirmed at 4:30pm ACST on Friday.
The Power’s squad is largely unchanged following last week’s 21-point win over Fremantle, with Piper Window replacing Lucy Boyd on the extended bench in the only change.
Defender Teagan Germech will line up in the backline once again after a dominant performance in Round 1, where she collected a club-record 16 intercept possessions.
Olivia Crane and Sophie Eaton have retained their spots after making their AFLW debuts in Perth last week, named in the backline and midfield respectively.
Emily Elkington also retains her place following an impressive first game in Port Adelaide colours, with the small forward kicking her first goal at AFLW level in the win over the Dockers.
Star ruck Matilda Scholz will again lead the midfield alongside Abbey Dowrick and Ash Woodland, while Lauren Young will provide a strong target up forward after impressing with her craft and contested marking in Round 1.
The extended bench of eight will be trimmed to five when final teams are confirmed at 4:30pm ACST on Friday.
Sunday’s clash will mark Port Adelaide’s first home game of the 2026 season and the first time the AFLW side will run out of its new race following the completion of the club’s state-of-the-art facilities.
There will also be plenty happening around the ground for fans of all ages, including free entertainment and activities in the Precious Cargo Kids Zone.
Kids under 14 receive free entry, and those who wear their pyjamas to the game can also collect a free hot chocolate.
