Port Adelaide has named its team for Sunday afternoon’s clash against Melbourne at Casey Fields, with a defensive duo set to run out for the 50th time at AFLW level.Â
Teammates and close friends Ella Heads and Amelie Borg will play their 50th AFLW games after arriving at Port Adelaide by very different paths.Â
Borg was there from the beginning, drafted as a teenager while balancing the demands of Year 12 with being part of the club's inaugural AFLW side.Â
Heads, meanwhile, had to wait for her opportunity, missing out in her draft year before earning her place in the AFLW system through the Sydney Swans Academy and eventually finding a new home at Alberton.Â
But on Sunday afternoon, their respective paths will arrive at the same destination when they run out for the 50th time at AFLW level and line up alongside one another in the backline.Â
Meanwhile, Grace Parsons is set to play her second AFLW game after debuting against Gold Coast at Alberton in Round 4, while Julia Teakle will return for her second game of the 2026 season, with the pair named in the forward line.Â
Emily Elkington also returns to the side after being managed last week and has been named up forward alongside captain Justine Mules-Robinson and Katelyn Pope.Â
Gemma Houghton, Kirsty Lamb, Olivia Crane, Maria Moloney and Piper Window have been named on the interchange bench.Â
Sachi Syme and Ella Boag will miss through injury, while Lauren Young has been managed for the Round 5 clash at Casey Fields.Â
