Port Adelaide has informed Ollie Lord and Tom Anastasopoulos they will not be offered contracts for the 2027 AFL season, while Will Brodie has announced his retirement from AFL football.

Lord played 35 games for the Power since being drafted at pick 49 in the 2020 national draft.

The key forward made his debut in 2023 and collected a career-high four-goal haul in the qualifying final against Brisbane later that year.

Injury has unfortunately limited the 24-year-old’s opportunities across his career, including sustaining a ruptured ACL in Round 2 of the SANFL season earlier this year.

Anastasopoulos was brought in via the 2023 national draft at pick 48 from the Geelong Falcons.

The 21-year-old made his debut in Round 10 this year against Gold Coast and ended the season with five AFL games to his name.

The energetic small forward also played 45 SANFL games for the Magpies over his three seasons at Alberton.

Brodie played 56 games across three clubs including two for the Power in 2026.

Drafted at pick nine in the 2016 national draft by Gold Coast, Brodie spent five seasons at the Suns before taking an opportunity at Fremantle.

In 2022 for the Dockers, the now 28-year-old made 24 AFL appearances and averaged 26.8 disposals, 12 contested possessions and 5.7 clearances in his most prolific season at the top level.

Brodie landed on Port Adelaide’s list ahead of 2026 and while his AFL opportunities were limited, he earned the Max Porter Memorial Trophy for the runner-up best and fairest SANFL player.

Brodie expressed his gratitude for his experiences across three clubs.

“After a decade in the AFL, now feels like the right time to hang up the boots,” Brodie said.

“I’m thankful to Gold Coast, Fremantle and Port Adelaide for all taking a chance on me, and helping me live out my dream.

“I’ve met so many amazing people along the journey, many of whom will stay lifelong friends.

“Thank you to my teammates and coaches at all three clubs, and most importantly, to my family, especially my partner Kate and daughter Mila, for the sacrifices they have made for me and my career.

“I’m really looking forward to this next phase of life.”

List manager Jason Cripps thanked the trio for their service.

“We thank Ollie, Tom and Will for their time at Port Adelaide,” Cripps said.

“All three players showed great commitment to their teammates and their development as footballers while on our list.

“Will has spent 10 years in the AFL system and he and his family have given so much over that time to continue seeking opportunities.

“Despite not playing much AFL football this year, Will’s attitude has been positive, and he was an outstanding contributor to the Magpies program.

“We congratulate Will on his career and wish him, partner Kate and daughter Mila all the best for life after football, as well as the best of luck to Ollie and Tom for whatever comes next.”
