CROWS defender Kyle Cheney could make a return to face Port Adelaide in Showdown 39 this weekend.

Head of football David Noble said he’s been battling a back injury and hopes to prove his fitness to be available for selection.

“Unfortunately, his back’s been giving him a little bit of grief over the last couple of weeks, so we’ve kept him out,” Noble said.

“This week, he’s definitely a ‘test’ and fingers crossed he’ll be back.”

Patrick Dangerfield will be clear to play after copping a knock to the mouth during Adelaide’s loss to West Coast at the weekend.

Midfielder Sam Kerridge and Andy Otten will also be available for selection after making successful returns in the SANFL last week.

Meanwhile Rory Sloane, Mitch Grigg and Brad Crouch remain sidelined with respective cheekbone, ankle and foot injuries.
