PORT ADELAIDE and Adelaide will do battle in the Bushfire T20 Showdown on Sunday afternoon, but there are some slightly different rules to what you might be used to when watching the BBL.

Each batsman will receive a “Free Hit” first ball - the old can’t be dismissed first ball rule you’d be used to in the backyard - with every player looking to clear the pickets as soon as they stroll to the crease.

The first four batsmen must be footballers, while the first cricketer - male or female - can bat at any time after the first four.

There are a maximum of 10 bowlers with a maximum of three overs per bowler, while each team can field 11 batsman - Sarah Lowe (Port Adelaide) and Bridget Patterson (Adelaide) must bat for their respective teams.

Teams can nominate a wild card (male cricketer who is not listed as a designated batsman), who may be subbed into the batting line up to replace a selected batsman (one of the eight AFL players) at the discretion of the captain, if the team is in trouble and deems it necessary to strengthen its batting line up during the match.

The match will begin at 2.40pm, with all other rules from the BBL being applied during the Bushfire T20 Showdown.

Sunday's blockbuster will see 100 per cent of net proceeds from ticketing, catering, sponsorship and all other donations go to the state’s bushfire appeal, and will be broadcast on Channel 7 Adelaide from 2:30pm, and available on 7plus for interstate viewers.

Tickets are available through Ticketek and donations to the SA Bushfire Appeal can be made here.
