Steven Motlop takes to the skies over Adelaide's Paul Seedsman in Showdown XLVIII.

PORT ADELAIDE forward Steven Motlop has been nominated for the 2020 AFL Mark of the Year for his hanger during the third quarter of Saturday night’s Showdown 48 win.

Motlop had the perfect sit on his Adelaide opponent Paul Seedsman as Hamish Hartlett launched a high ball into the right forward pocket.

Motlop got his right knee into Seedsman’s back and elevated himself, coming down with what turned out to be a comfortable chest mark.

The 29-year-old finished off the play with a set shot goal, and finished the night with 24 disposals, five marks and two goals to be among his side’s best.

The other Round 2 nominees for Mark of the Year are Brisbane’s Thomas Berry and Collingwood’s Chris Mayne.

Fellow Port Adelaide forward Zak Butters also received a nomination for Goal of the Year.
