The hard-running midfielder was subbed out of Sunday’s big win over Richmond that put Port Adelaide through to the second week of finals, with a confirmed minor crack in the angle of his jaw.
White will still go through the Power's routine injury review procedure and meet a surgeon on Monday, but the club's head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au he was confident that an operation would not be required.
“Matt will see a surgeon today, but that's procedural and I think the surgery option is highly unlikely,” Burgess said.
“He’ll still be assessed at training to make sure he’s 100 per cent for the game, he's certainly in the frame this week."
SANFL contracted player Robbie Young will also see a surgeon to determine whether further action need be taken on a finger injury sustained in Saturday’s second semi final loss to Norwood, while AFL-listed forwards Cam Hitchcock and John Butcher will be assessed at training during the week.
Young remains a chance to play the Panthers in the preliminary final on Sunday afternoon.
