Broadbent has been in consistent form for Woodville-West Torrens over the first half of the SANFL season and has already been named as an emergency against the Dockers and the Bulldogs. He is one of six possible inclusions to replace the injured Daniel Motlop and the omitted Steven Salopek and Marlon Motlop.
Alipate Carlile will be a welcome return to defence while Jason Davenport, Nathan Krakouer, Nick Lower and Paul Stewart have also been named in the squad of 25.
General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde said Salopek needed time in the SANFL to find some form.
“Since coming back from his shoulder injury Sal hasn’t shown the same form he had earlier in the year,” Rohde said.
“He’s not providing the same run and his confidence is down, so we’re hoping a few games back at Glenelg will help to build his confidence and regain his form.
“We’re confident it will only be a short term thing, he’s going through a lean patch at the moment but we think it’s just part of his long-term development.
“Marlon showed some good signs against Freo but probably struggled with his fitness against the Bulldogs. He’s still young and we’re still hopeful after a few more games in the SANFL he’ll be pushing for another call-up.”
