Travis Boak has jumped back into second spot on the overall AFLCA leaderboard.

PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Travis Boak has jumped back into second spot in the 2020 SHADFORTH FINANCIAL GROUP AFLCA CHAMPION PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD after yet another starring performance in his side’s win over North Melbourne.

Boak earned the perfect ten votes, taking him to within just six votes of the outright leader Lachie Neale from Brisbane.

Boak was part of a dominant midfield in Port’s 36-point win over the Kangaroos, finishing with a game-high 34 disposals.

The former skipper also booted a goal, had a game-high nine clearances, eight score involvements and a game-high 485 metres gained.

Vice-captain Ollie Wines was not far behind Boak on eight votes from the coaches and with 30 disposals for the night.

He contributed five marks, seven clearances, and six score involvements including two goals in three third-quarter minutes to help break the game open.

Ruckman Scott Lycett was given four votes after claiming the honours in the ruck over Todd Goldstein.

The Port big man had 27 hit-outs to 23, 12 disposals to nine and five clearances to two.

Port’s Darcy Byrne-Jones and Karl Amon each got two votes while Zak Butters received one.

North’s Luke Davies-Uniacke was his side’s sole vote winner – getting three votes from the coaches.

With votes from a number of other games to come, Boak sits on 69 votes overall, behind Neale on 75, while Wines has moved right up the leader board to be among the top 12.
