Rising star Zak Butters will spend two matches on the sidelines after accepting his ban for rough conduct.

PORT ADELAIDE forward Zak Butters will miss his side’s remaining regular season matches after accepting a two-match ban offered to him by the AFL’s Match Review Officer.

Butters was cited for rough conduct for a high bump on the Kangaroos’ Jy Simpkin in the third quarter of the 36-point win at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with high contact and high impact.

Simpkin sat out the rest of the game under the concussion protocols after being assessed by medical staff.

Port Adelaide has elected not to challenge the ban, meaning Butters will miss the Round 17 and 18 games against Essendon and Collingwood.
