Long-term Port Adelaide member Neil Burgess is now the proud owner of the MG HS, after making the most of a special offer for club members.

THE Port Adelaide Football Club defied COVID-19 to be a big improver in 2020 and its joint major partner MG Motor followed suit, becoming the nation’s fastest growing vehicle brand last year.

While Port Adelaide went from tenth in 2019 to sitting top for the entirety of last season before falling agonisingly short of a berth in the Grand Final, MG experienced rapid growth as well, experiencing an 83.2 per-cent increase in sales.

This strong growth was reflected across the entire MG model line-up, with each of the marque’s model ranges seeing positive sales growth in 2020. The MG ZS range was in the top-four best-selling small SUVs in December 2020, while the MG3 model continued its dominance as the best-selling light hatchback since August 2020 and the MG HS continued to gain momentum.

It has been a busy year for MG Motor, which launched its long-term partnership with Port Adelaide as well as three new models in Australia including the popular MG HS SUV, MG ZST and the fully electric MG ZS EV.

Peter Ciao, CEO, MG Motor Australia and New Zealand, said: “At MG we’re looking at the future with optimism, ensuring everyone can access a good vehicle at a great price.

“We’re delighted to continue our strong market push in Australia and New Zealand – bringing further choice, value and premiumisation to our customers. We’re proud of our continuing partnership with Port Adelaide Football Club, and we look forward to the year ahead with the team.”

Long-term Port Adelaide member Neil Burgess became the proud owner of the MG HS in November, having made the most of a special offer for Port Adelaide members.

“I saw the video the club put out when Ollie Wines and Steven Motlop took one of the MGs out for a drive and I thought the car looked nice so I decided to check it out,” Mr Burgess said.

“It’s really quite impressive with the sportier finish, especially the interior with the leather seats and steering wheel, and the turbo charge was something I was looking for to give us some more guts driving around town and on the highway.

“I test drove a few similar cars and the MG was nice and quiet and certainly a smooth ride.

“It’s a great car and it’s just a bonus that MG is a club partner.”

The exclusive offer for Port Adelaide members has been extended for a short time. They can purchase an MG ZS or HS and get a free team guernsey.

And there has never been a better time to buy with MG’s OMG sale continuing across Australia.
