New: Aliir (club debut), Bergman (AFL debut), Fantasia (club debut)

PORT ADELAIDE will have three club debutants for its AFL Premiership Season-opening clash against North Melbourne on Sunday.

As confirmed by the club yesterday, new recruits Aliir Aliir and Orazio Fantasia will play their first premiership season match for Port Adelaide at Marvel Stadium.

Aliir played 64 games for Sydney before landing at Alberton during the 2020 Trade Period, while Fantasia managed 80 at Essendon in seven years.

Both have impressed their new coaches and teammates throughout the pre-season, especially in the AAMI Community Series game against the Crows a fortnight ago.

They will be joined in the side for the first time by defender Miles Bergman, who will be making his AFL debut.

Bergman came to the club with pick 14 in the 2019 AFL National Draft from the Sandringham Dragons.

Forward Todd Marshall is back in the side after missing the game against Adelaide with a bruised cheek.

Sunday’s game at Marvel Stadium gets underway at 12:40pm ACDT / 1:10pm AEDT.
