PORT ADELAIDE defenders Riley Bonner and Lachie Jones will each miss Port Adelaide’s first home game of the AFL season with respective hamstring injuries.

Bonner was subbed out in the third quarter of Sunday’s win over North Melbourne after injuring his right hamstring attempting to kick a ball off the ground.

He had an MRI on Monday evening, which confirmed a hamstring tendon injury that will see him miss at least a month of football.

A timeframe for his return will become clearer in coming weeks.

First-year defender Jones suffered a left hamstring strain during the club’s SANFL trial game against Sturt on Friday night.

He will resume running this week and is expected to remain on the sideline for around a fortnight.

Forward Connor Rozee has resumed running and will be pushing his case to be included in the side to tackle Essendon after injury kept him out of Round 1.

Hamish Hartlett is available to play after overcoming hamstring soreness.

Port Adelaide’s team to tackle the Bombers will be named on Friday evening at 5:50pm ACDT.

Saturday’s game at Adelaide Oval gets underway at 4:05pm ACDT.
