Lycett was charged with Rough Conduct for a dangerous tackle during Showdown 49.

PORT ADELAIDE ruckman Scott Lycett has been referred directly to the tribunal over the first quarter tackle that left Adelaide’s Ned McHenry concussed in Saturday night’s Showdown XLIX.

After a review by the Match Review Officer, Lycett was charged with Rough Conduct for a dangerous tackle.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as careless conduct with high contact and a severe impact.

Under that classification, Lycett cannot accept an early guilty plea and must be referred directly to the tribunal.

Lycett went on to notch a game-high 34 hit-outs in the 49-point win to go with 18 disposals, two clearances, three marks and six tackles.

Port Adelaide is awaiting confirmation of the tribunal hearing details.
