At a glance Junior clubs: Greythorn/Camberwell Grammar Clubs: Port Adelaide (2016 Rookie Draft, pick 45) Debut: Rd 1, 2017 Recruited from: Oakleigh Chargers Sponsor: Sidewood Estate A dual TAC Cup premiership player and a capable forward line goal kicker, Houston was thrown back into defence at the end of his first rookie year with Port in 2015 and flourished. A strong pre-season saw him make his AFL debut in Round 1, 2017. TIMELINE 2016 A slow build for Houston saw him crack the SANFL as a quality defender under Chad Cornes's stewardship of the Magpies. His elite kick and strong running were his chief weapons. 2017 Houston made his AFL debut in Round 1, 2017 against Sydney in the Power's fantastic win away from home. He played 17 games including the elimination final loss to the Eagles. He was an important player in Port's back six and will be looking to cement his spot in the side in 2018. 2018 Dan Houston played every game in 2018, a great reward for a very consistent season off the half back flank. He averaged 17 possessions a game, and was a huge influence on Port's defensive unit.
