Joe Richards was drafted with pick 48 in the 2022 National Draft, joining Collingwood as a mature age recruit. The 25-year-old was traded to Port Adelaide, bringing his speed and natural footballing ability across to Alberton.
Richards immediately impressed with his hard work, composure and football IQ, playing all but one game in the 2025 season - finishing fourth in the club's Best & Fairest. He ranked above average in disposals (15.2), kicks (7.7), marks (3.4) and tackles (3.2), and 'elite' in handballs (7.5) for his position.
Having seamlessly fit into Port Adelaide's side, Richards looks poised to become a key piece of Port Adelaide's side moving forward.
