Port Adelaide secured the signature of talented midfielder Shineah Goody as part of the 2023 Expansion U18 Talent Pathway Pre-Signing Period. Hailing from Edithburgh on the Yorke Peninsula, Goody burst onto the SANFLW scene as a 15-year-old and has developed into one of the most complete players within her age group.
Touted as the best midfielder in the 2023 draft class, Goody is exceptionally creative by hand and foot and uses her strength and athleticism to dominate in the centre. She was named All-Australian following the under 18 national championships campaign in both 2022 (MVP) and 2023 (runner-up MVP).
Demonstrating exceptional ball use and good athleticism, the 18-year-old’s offensive and defensive talent has shown she’ll be one to watch at AFLW level. She was immediately recognised with Rising Star recognition, earning the honour in her debut game against Adelaide.
