Widely hailed as one of the best intercept defenders in the league, Janelle Cuthbertson joined Port Adelaide as a priority signing ahead of the 2023 AFLW season. Standing at 175 centimetres, the talented tall had a flourishing tennis career before making the decision to switch codes – quickly making an impact on the league. Playing 24 games for Fremantle spanning a four-season career, Cuthbertson was named All-Australian following a breakout year in 2021.
Her strong connection with her teammates and natural leadership on and off the field makes her an incredibly valuable asset to the side, having served as club captain in the 2024 season. After a seven-season career, Cuthbertson called time on her career at the conclusion of Port Adelaide's 2025 AFLW campaign.
