Defender Amelie Borg was selected with Port Adelaide’s sixth pick in the 2022 NAB AFLW Draft (61 overall). Hailing from North Adelaide in the SANFLW, the lockdown tall boasts impressive mobility and strength that allows her to compete well in the air.
The picture of consistency, Borg has played all but one match in her career, continuously taking her game to new and impressive heights. Her competitive nature and one-on-one ability was a highlight of her game, seeing her emerge as one of the most difficult defensive players in the competition. This improvement hasn't gone unnoticed, with back-to-back 22under 22 selections and an extended All-Australian squad nomination already under her belt in her young career.
A fan favourite within the Port Adelaide faithful, Borg has shown maturity beyond her years and has shown signs that her strong form is just the very beginning for the young talent. She continues to rise on and off the field, voted in as vice-captain ahead of the 2025 season and continuing to show her abilities as a leader of the club for a long time to come.
