With a pedigree of talented youth development harking back to the 1970s, Port Adelaide enters a bold new era of training the next generation of AFL footballers through its Next Generation Academies.
With a commitment to developing the talent pool and football participation through the Port Adelaide brand, these Academies will work collaboratively with the SANFL, Woodville-West Torrens, Norwood, South Adelaide and West Adelaide Football Clubs, schools and community groups to identify and develop elite football talent.

Multicultural & Indigenous Next Generation Academy
Targeting players from Africa and Asia, and Aboriginal players from prescribed remote regions in South Australia, this academy commenced operation at the start of 2017. Players are identified by from participation in club football and Port Adelaide's own cultural programs and the Aboriginal Power Cup.
Maitland Hub (Aboriginal program)
Port Adelaide's Maitland Academy works to provide an accessible regional engagement program for multicultural and Aboriginal players on the Yorke Peninsula.
Female Talent Next Generation Academy
Working with female footballers from Woodville-West Torrens, Norwood, South Adelaide and West Adelaide, this program works to develop high-quality female footballers for the future of elite football in Australia. Sessions take place fortnightly, where the participants are exposed to a high performance football program.
Elite Talent Next Generation Academy
Providing the most talented male footballers from under 13-15 grades at Port Adelaide's aligned SANFL clubs, this program takes training to the next level, hones athlete awareness around elite behaviours, nutrition, strength and conditioning, goal-setting and skill development. This program commences in Winter 2017.
Port Adelaide will work with the sons of former Port Adelaide AFL players to develop their football skills with individual development programs. These players work with AFL development coaches and recruiters to enhance their skills and craft from talented footballers into draft potentials.
