BIO
Port Adelaide premiership player Stuart Dew returned to Alberton ahead of the 2026 AFL season, serving as the senior assistant to former teammate, Josh Carr.
As a player, he remains a cult hero among Power fans, remembered for his elite forward craft and booming left foot across his 10 seasons at Alberton.
Following a 206-game playing career across Port Adelaide and Hawthorn, he transitioned immediately into coaching, starting in development at Sydney in 2010 before becoming an assistant coach in 2011. During his eight season at the Swans, he was involved with eight finals campaigns including a premiership in 2012.
From 2018 to 2023, Dew served as the senior coach of Gold Coast, becoming the club's longest-tenured coach with six years at the helm. Following his departure, he took up a role with the Brisbane Lions, where he played an integral role in the Lions’ back-to-back premierships in 2024 and 2025.
