Zak Butters was charged for striking twice against the Blues.

PORT ADELAIDE forward Zak Butters will pay $4000 in fines after accepting separate striking charges by the Match Review Officer during the win over Carlton on Saturday evening.

Butters was first charged with striking Blues defender Nic Newman during the first quarter of the Round 22 clash.

That incident was assessed as careless contact, low impact, body contact and classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence.

The second charge was handed down for striking Carlton defender Adam Saad during the final quarter of the same game.

That incident was assessed as careless contact, low impact, high contact and classified as a $3000 sanction as a first offence.

Butters has elected to enter an early guilty plea to both charges and accept a $2000 sanction for each charge instead.

It means the 20-year-old is free to play against the Western Bulldogs this week in the club’s final game of the home and away season.
