There is an exciting line up of blockbusters scheduled at Adelaide Oval for True Believers to look forward to in 2022.

SEASON 2022 is fast approaching with less than two months until our premiership campaign kicks off.

As the boys are working hard on the track building up for the new season, portadelaidefc.com.au has taken a look at some of the big games scheduled at Adelaide Oval that True Believers should mark in their calendars.

Round 2 v Hawthorn

Saturday 26 March, 7.10pm

The first home game of the season is always one to mark in the calendar and it will be no different in 2022.

After a long six months between visits, True Believers will get to see the boys run out onto Adelaide Oval for the first time this year for a Saturday night clash against the Hawks.

The night will be a special occasion for the entire Port Adelaide family, with the club using its first home game to honour club legend, Russell Ebert.

Round 4 v Melbourne

Thursday 7 April, 7.10pm

There is no bigger test in football than facing the previous year’s premiers and we will get an early indication of where we sit when the Demons come to town in Round 4.

In a stand-alone prime-time Thursday night fixture, all eyes will be on this hot contest.

The reigning premiers will come to town for a Thursday night blockbuster.

Round 6 v West Coast

Saturday 23 April, 4.05pm

ANZAC Round is always a special occasion on the Port Adelaide calendar.

For the 19th consecutive season the club will have the honour of hosting an ANZAC Round game – taking on the Eagles in a Saturday twilight fixture.

“We are grateful to the AFL for our club to again be granted hosting rights of this game in Adelaide. It’s an enormous honour and one that we will never take for granted,” said CEO Matthew Richardson.

The club will host an ANZAC Round game for the 19th consecutive season.

Round 11 v Essendon

Date and Time TBC

In Round 11 we get the honour of celebrating Sir Doug Nicholls Round at Adelaide Oval, hosting Essendon on a date and time to be determined.

Both clubs share a rich history of nurturing and promoting Indigenous talent and we look forward to celebrating the incredible legacy Indigenous players have contributed to our club and Australian football at our home ground.

Round 23 v Adelaide

Date and time TBC

The fixture gods saved the best for last this year – with our home Showdown pencilled in for the final week of the minor round.

Typically a close and tough contest, the Showdown looks to be a fitting curtain raiser to finals footy.

Port Adelaide will be hoping to finish the minor round with the Showdown shield in hand.
